Mike Michael

Mike Michael here!
I started off doing makeup because of my passion for art. Growing up my mom incorporated art into our activities at home. Paints and papier mâché.
Looking for work in NYC as a homeless young adult was scary. I painted for money. Murals and small commission pieces. Working at the FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology for contracted art (backgrounds/murals) for their theatre projects I was pulled to fill in for the makeup department. Never touching makeup before I was pushed to start that very second… “you know how to work a brush and paint? You got this!”
Weeks later I land a job at Sephora for the headquarter location in Manhattan. The fake it to make it attitude landed me the Senior Makeup Artist position. As a Senior Artist I had to create face charts using makeup. Every client received a face chart which included all the products I used to create their custom makeup look.
Face charts inspired me to start painting with makeup on actual canvases for art pieces I used to decorate my home. Art in general has always been an outlet for me. Makeup is art and I love when my clients allow me to create for them. Using makeup on canvases allows me to practice my technique and also connects the two elements for me. It just works.

Theo

I’m Theodore Dolezal, Theo to most people that know me, and I’m a straight up art junkie. Spray paint art and chainmaille jewelry have been my focus for the past year but I am slowly venturing into digital drawing and woodwork. I’m hoping to use the woodworking skills to build guitars within the next couple of months. I’m also a bass player and a former Co-Founding member of the local metal band WTM.
