Claire Santellana

Hi, I’m Claire Santellana, owner of Crossroads Art House, LLC and I’ve been teaching art for over thirteen years. I use a variety of techniques to help all types of students learn art and bring their creativity to the next level. I’ve also taught reading, writing, SPED, and art in the public school setting throughout my teaching career.

I can’t wait to help the students and Crossroads Art House members experience a variety of art mediums while learning about art history! My goal is to help students foster their creativity and find their passion in the arts. Art has so many benefits including building resiliency, fine motor skills, creative thinking, and more!

I’ve always been passionate about visual arts and have been involved in the arts since early childhood. My personal favorite mediums to work in are clay, watercolor, acrylic, and pencil although I do enjoy dabbling in all mediums. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and seven years in the insurance industry, I decided to become a teacher. I founded Art to Finish Studio LLC in 2018, and have enjoyed working directly with Cottonwood Center for the Arts, Pikes Peak Library District, and other organizations throughout Colorado Springs. I’ve served on several boards including Arts in Medicine at MD Anderson, Victoria Art League, and Victoria Bach Festival Board.

After moving to Port Lavaca, TX during the pandemic, I’ve had the honor of curating the VTX Art Walks, facilitating multiple art shows including The Art Expedition, working on programs with The Nave Museum, Children’s Discovery Museum of the Golden Crescent, Barbara Bauer Briggs Family YMCA, and Port Lavaca Art Guild. It’s amazing to see how much The Crossroads is growing in the arts!
